Manchester City loaned Stevan Jovetic to Inter Milan and Liverpool sold Rickie Lambert to West Bromwich Albion on Friday, a week before the start of the new Premier League season.

City said Jovetic will be on loan at Inter for a season and a half, with a view to a permanent stay. The Montenegro striker spent two injury-plagued seasons at Etihad Stadium and never established himself as a regular.

Lambert ended an unsuccessful year-long stint at his hometown team by joining West Brom on a two-year deal. British media reported that Liverpool received nearly 3 million pounds ($4.7 million) for the 33-year-old England striker.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis said "Rickie is a good, strong, solid player who is a great character, good in the dressing room and good on the pitch."
