Marin Maric scored 12 points, and posted career-highs with 14 rebounds and five blocks, and Northern Illinois rolled to an 80-54 victory over Chicago State on Wednesday night.

Aaric Armstead had 14 points to lead Northern Illinois (7-0), which is off to its best start since going 9-0 in the 1994-95 season. Travon Baker had 11 points and Marshawn Wilson chipped in 10 for the Huskies. It was Maric's second straight double-double.

Elliot Cole scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with three 3-pointers to lead Chicago State (3-5). Trayvon Palmer added 10 points.

Northern Illinois had a 10-point lead midway through the first half and built a 39-24 halftime advantage. Armstead scored 10 points as part of a 12-4 spurt to open the second half, and the Huskies led 51-28 early in the second half and cruised from there.
