Maryland scored four times in an error-prone seventh inning and beat Indiana 4-2 Saturday to advance to the Big Ten Tournament championship game.
The Terrapins (39-20) will face Michigan — a 5-3 winner over Illinois — in the title game Sunday.
Nick Cieri struck out swinging to lead off the seventh, but reached first base on a wild pitch before Kengo Kawahara walked. Kevin Biondic had a sacrifice bunt, but catcher Brad Hartong's throw to first was off the mark, allowing pinch-runner Zach Jancarski — who replaced Cieri — to score from second.
Another Indiana error loaded the bases before Kevin Smith's fielder's choice added a run. Brandon Lowe had another fielder's choice RBI and Kevin Martir added an RBI single.
Reliever Jake Kelzer (4-5) allowed four runs — none earned — in 1 1-3 innings for Indiana (34-22), which scored twice in the eighth.
Maryland's Robert Galligan (2-5) pitched 1 1-3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Kevin Mooney earned his eighth save.
