Matrooh rallied to beat Mylute by 1 3/4 lengths Saturday in the $196,000 Bold Ruler Handicap at Belmont Park.

Matrooh posted his third win in the last four starts. The 5-year-old gelding trained by Chad Brown and ridden by Abel Castellano ran the seven furlongs in 1:21.24.

He paid $10.60, $4.30 and $4. Mylute returned $3.20 and $3.10 while Heaven's Runway paid $5.40 to show.

Green Gratto was fourth followed by El Kabeir, the even-money favourite.

It was the first start for El Kabeir since running third in the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct in April.

He missed the Kentucky Derby with a foot injury. The 3-year-old colt is owned by Ahmed Zayat, who swept the Triple Crown with American Pharoah.
