French-born Tunisian midfielder Fahid Ben Khalfallah's 71st-minute goal gave Melbourne Victory a 1-0 win Sunday over the Newcastle Jets.

It was the Victory's first win in Newcastle in more than six years covering eight matches.

The win left the Victory in fifth place with 20 points, seven behind first-place Brisbane and second-place Western Sydney. The Roar lead the Wanderers on goal difference after 13 rounds.
