A men's World Cup giant slalom was cancelled because of bad weather on Sunday.

Overnight rain turned into wet snow, making the course slushy. Organizers were hoping that they could hold a shortened two-leg race but the conditions turned even worse and the event was called off.

There was no immediate word if or when the race would be rescheduled.

Earlier, the international skiing organization (FIS) said that a men's slalom that had been cancelled in Levi, Finland, will not be replaced.
