Eric Comrie could only do so much to keep the Manitoba Moose from dropping their fourth game in a row.

Comrie stopped 49-of-50 shots, but was beaten by Derek Grant in the shootout as the Stockton Heat edged Manitoba 2-1 on Friday in American Hockey League action.

Emile Poirier was the only Heat (15-16-3) skater to get one past Comrie in regulation, scoring at 8:52 of the second period.

Brenden Kichton responded for the Moose (11-22-6) at 15:16 of the third to push the game into overtime.

Kevin Poulin stopped 30-of-31 shots and all three shooters in the shootout for the win in net.

Stockton went 0 for 5 on the power play while Manitoba failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
