New Jersey high school guard Malik Ellison signed a national letter of intent with St. John's on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-6 Ellison, the son of former Louisville and NBA player Pervis Ellison, averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists as a senior for Life Center Academy.
"Malik is an explosive athlete who comes from an outstanding basketball family," first-year St. John's coach Chris Mullin said. "He has a natural scoring ability and can thrive in our program because of his relentless work ethic. Malik is a good shooter with range and handles the ball well."
