Nicholas Brisebois has left himself in good shape for the final round of the Canadian Junior Golf Association national championship.
The Kanata, Ont., native shot an even-par 72 on Wednesday at Rockway Vineyards Golf Course for a two-stroke lead in the Boys 15-19 division at 1 under.
"I felt like I drove the ball better than yesterday and I made some key putts to get the round to even par," said Brisebois.
The day began with four players tied atop the leaderboard, but it didn't stay that way very long.
Brisebois opened slow, playing the first four holes at 2-over par. But then he began to catch fire, playing holes 5 through 16 at 4 under before ending with a pair of bogeys.
"I think the way to play this course tomorrow, you just have to hit fairways and greens and not make mistakes," he added.
Kelvin Young Woong Lim posting a 2-over 74 to sit alone in second place. Aidan Gavey, whose division-best 3-under 69 helped him move from 13th place to third.
Grace St-Germain, of Orleans, Ont., continued her domination of the Girls 15-19, shooting a 3-under 69.
St-Germain carded four birdies and one bogey, with a bogey-free back-nine 33. She holds a 16-stroke lead over Emily Chu of Ancaster, Ont., heading into Thursday's final round.
"My game plan doesn't change tomorrow, the plan is to still take it one shot a time and not get ahead of myself." said St-Germain.
