Nikita Soshnikov scored the only goal of the shootout and added another in regulation as the Toronto Marlies slipped past the Utica Comets 3-2 on Wednesday night in American Hockey League action.
Ryan Rupert also scored for the Marlies (30-7-2), who have now won six in a row.
Jon Landry and Darren Archibald found the back of the net for Utica (16-15-6), which has dropped seven straight.
Antoine Bibeau made 35 saves through regulation and overtime for the win in net. Richard Bachman turned away 19 shots in defeat.
Toronto was 0 for 5 with the man advantage while the Comets scored once on five opportunities.
