Kei Nishikori defeated Pablo Andujar 6-3, 6-3 Wednesday at the Rogers Cup.

The fourth-seeded Nishikori earned his ATP-Tour leading 27th hardcourt win of the year in the second-round match, which was delayed nearly 90 minutes by rain.

The 25-year-old Nishikori, a finalist at the 2014 U.S. Open, won the tournament in Washington on Sunday.

In other results, Mikhail Youzny upset ninth seeded Gilles Simon 6-1, 6-4. Jeremy Chardy defeated Leonardo Mayer 6-4, 7-6 (4) to set up a third-round meeting with 6-foot-11 Ivo Karlovic.

Later, Andy Murray and Tommy Robredo will complete a match interrupted by rain Tuesday night. They are tied 4-4 in the first set.

Vasek Pospisil will face John Isner in an evening match.
