Tai Odiase scored 23 points, Jake Wiegand added 16 and Illinois-Chicago dominated the second half for a 96-58 win over Roosevelt on Tuesday.

The NAIA Lakers had a 37-24 lead on a Damian Zalewski 3-pointer midway through the first half but the Flames steadily pulled away for a 49-37 advantage.

The Flames (1-2) shot 50 per cent — 18 of 36 despite going 1 of 11 on 3-pointers — then got hot in the second half, pounding the ball inside.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Illinois-Chicago used a 14-0 run that pushed the lead to 69-40. The Flames had a 32-8 advantage on points in the paint and shot 59 per cent.

Julian Torres added 13 points and Dikembe Dixson had 15 rebounds as the Flames had a 54-30 advantage on the boards.

Kevin Priebe had 12 points for the Lakers (3-5), who shot 21 per cent in the second half and 31 per cent for the game.
