Eli Tomac will miss the remainder of the motocross season after injuring both shoulders during a wreck over the weekend.

Tomac won the first five motos to sweep the season's first two weekends before being injured Saturday during his hometown race at Thunder Valley Motocross Park in Englewood, Colorado.

Tomac was ahead by 14 seconds during the second moto when he hit a rut and flew over the handlebars. The 22-year-old from Cortez, Colorado, suffered a torn left rotator cuff in the crash and dislocated his right shoulder, which was put back in place by medical personnel at the track.

He will have surgery on his left shoulder and could face another surgery on his right, as well.

Tomac finished second during the 2015 Supercross season.
