The San Diego Padres have recalled left-hander Frank Garces from Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.
For Garces, who made the team's opening day roster, it will be his fourth stint in the major leagues this season. The 25-year-old spent just over two weeks in the minors, and gives the Padres two lefties in the bullpen.
In 34 games for the Padres this season, Garces has a 4.94 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 31 innings.
The Padres hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night.
