Carolina Panthers four-time Pro Bowl centre Ryan Kalil will sit out Monday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts with an ankle injury.
Fernando Velasco will make his first start of the season in Kalil's place. Kalil is the leader of Carolina's offensive line and paces the NFL's No. 1 rushing attack.
Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, defensive tackle Dwan Edwards and defensive end Mario Addison are also out with injuries. Safety Dean Marloww, running back Brandon Wegher and wide receiver Kevin Norwood are also inactive.
The Colts will also be without their starting centre Khaled Holmes. Jonotthan Harrison will get the start.
Indianapolis' other inactives are wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, safety Winston Guy, running back Josh Robinson, linebacker Nate Irving, offensive tackle Denzelle Good and nose tackle Zach Kerr.
