Pepperdine men's basketball coach Marty Wilson has signed a five-year contract extension that will take him through the 2020-21 season.

The Waves were 18-14 overall last season, finishing fourth in the West Coast Conference with a 10-8 record. They played in the CBI tournament, their first post-season appearance since 2002.

Wilson has a 55-67 record in four years as coach. The Waves' overall victories last season were the most since 2002. He played for the Waves from 1985-89, served as an assistant from 1991-96 and returned as associate head coach from 2009-11 before being named head coach in March 2011.

The school announced the deal Thursday.
