Pirates outfielder Andrew Lambo has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and Pittsburgh has selected the contract of infielder Steve Lombardozzi from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Lambo is just 1 for 25 (.040) in 20 games.

Lombardozzi's .379 batting average in 24 games was second in the International League. He is a .266 hitter in the major leagues in four seasons with Washington (2011-13) and Baltimore (2014).

Pittsburgh announced the moves Wednesday.
