Plate umpire Barry Chambers left the Dallas regional final in the seventh inning on Monday after being hit in the chest.

Chambers was injured two innings earlier. A pitch from Dallas Baptist's Chance Adams hit Virginia Commonwealth's Daane Berezo. The ball ricocheted off him and hit Chambers in the chest.

After a delay of about 15 minutes, play resumed. Derrell Arnold, the first base umpire on another crew that called Monday's first game, moved in behind the plate.
