Kendall Pollard scored 18 points and Dayton took control down the stretch on Saturday to defeat La Salle 59-44.

The Explorers were within three after a trey from Jordan Price with 11:05 remaining but missed their next 10 shots. Kyle Davis knocked down a 3 at the 6:12 mark to make it 52-42 and the Flyers upped the lead to 58-42 before Karl Harris scored for La Salle with 12 seconds left.

Dyshawn Pierre added 13 points and Davis had 12 for Dayton (18-3, 8-1 Atlantic 10), which won its sixth straight and 19th straight home game in conference play. Pierre and Pollard combined for 17 rebounds as the Flyers outrebounded La Salle 40-23.

Price led the Explorers (5-14, 1-7) with 17 points. He also had seven rebounds and five assists.

Dayton shot 52 per cent before intermission and led 30-23 at the half as Pollard scored 12 points.
