Anders Fannemel of Norway won his first ski jumping World Cup event of the season on Sunday.

Fannemel soared 143.5 and 136.5 metres for a total of 265.9 points, 5.6 points ahead of compatriot Johann Andre Forfang, who had jumps of 132 and 143.5 metres.

Japanese veteran Noriaki Kasai finished third with 259.5 points after jumps of 138.5 and 134 metres. Kasai eclipsed his own record as the oldest ski jumper to finish on a World Cup medals podium.

After a bronze-medal finish in December in Switzerland, he finished on the podium again at 43 years and seven months.

Overall World Cup leader Peter Prevc of Slovenia, who won Saturday's event, finished sixth.

The next round is in Olso on Feb. 7.
