The Sharks Super Rugby team have signed South Africa international prop Coenie Oosthuizen after losing three Springboks forwards to French clubs.

The Sharks say Friday that the 26-year-old Oosthuizen will join in November ahead of next year's Super Rugby tournament.

Oosthuizen has made 21 test appearances for the Springboks and can play both on both sides of the front row.

Springboks hooker Bismarck du Plessis, prop Jannie du Plessis and flanker Willem Alberts quit the Durban-based Sharks at the end of this season's Super Rugby competition to play in France.

The Sharks finished 11th out of 15 teams in 2015, a disappointing result under new director of rugby and former South Africa assistant coach Gary Gold.
