Joe Reed scored 20 points, Max Landis knocked down 7 of 10 shots from distance to finished with a 19 points and Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne built a 16-point lead in the first half and cruised to an 87-67 win over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Saturday afternoon

After Yemi Makanjuola's layup to pull SIU-Edwardsville within two, 10-8, with 13:22 left in the first half, the Mastodons went on a 12-2 run and never looked back — taking a 45-29 lead at intermission.

DeAngelo Stewart added 12 and Mo Evans 11 for the Mastodons (3-1).

Grant Fiorentinos scored 21 points off the bench to lead the Cougars (1-2). Burak Eslik had 16 points and Jalen Henry added another 11 for SIU-Edwardsville.

IPFW now leads the series with its former Great Lakes Valley Conference rival SIU-Edwardsville, 12-8, and has won eight-straight matchups.

IPFW plays at Miami (Ohio) Tuesday.

SIU-Edwardsville plays at home against Campbell Tuesday.
