Peter Regin scored the winner at 5:25 of extra time as the Rockford IceHogs edged the host Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Regin's goal came while playiong 3-on-3 while Joakim Nordstrom scored 2:42 into the second period for the IceHogs (2-1-0).

Christian Thomas gave the Bulldogs (1-0-2) a 1-0 lead 2:50 into the game.

Scott Darling made 34 saves for Rockford as Hamilton's Mike Condon turned away 26-of-28 shots.

The IceHogs went 0 for 2 on the power play while the Bulldogs failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
