Shane Richards scored 21 points and RaShawn Stores hit two free with 7.1 seconds left and Manhattan held off Quinnipiac 63-59 on Sunday.

The Jaspers (12-14, 9-8 Metro-Atlantic) led 31-23 at the half, was ahead by 10 midway through the second half and led 57-51 with less than two minutes to play. Chase Daniels had a 3-point play and after a turnover Dimitri Floras made a jumper to pull the Bobcats with 57-56 with 1:08 remaining.

After another Manhattan turnover, Quinnipiac missed a 3-pointer and Manhattan made four free throws before Giovanni McLean banked in a 3-pointer. Stores then finished the scoring with two free throws with 0.4 seconds left.

Rich Williams added 14 points Manhattan.

Daniels and McLean had 15 points apiece for Quinnipiac (9-18, 6-12).

The teams were evenly matched across the board but Manhattan was 8 of 15 on 3s and made eight more free throws.
