Ellis Richardson ran for 123 yards and a touchdown and threw for 78 yards as Alabama State beat Division II Miles College 26-7 on Saturday.

Stanley Robinson got the scoring started for Alabama State (6-5) with a 2-yard touchdown run capping a six-play, 63-yard drive at the beginning of the second quarter. A safety eight minutes later made it 9-0 before halftime.

David Albert's 26-yard field goal made it 12-0 before John Mcdowell scored for Miles (6-5) on a 9-yard run to cap a nine-play, 65-yard drive that took just over three minutes to make it 12-7.

Alabama State sealed it when Khalid Thomas ran for a 9-yard score and Richardson raced 53 yards to the end zone in a four-minute span early in the fourth quarter.

Mcdowell was 9-of-16 passing for 95 yards and an interception.
