San Francisco coach Jennifer Azzi has earned a five-year contract extension that keeps her leading the Dons program through the 2019-20 season.
Athletic director Scott Sidwell announced the new deal Friday for Azzi, a former Stanford star under Hall of Fame coach Tara VanDerveer.
The Dons have made big strides during Azzi's first five seasons, going 19-14 last season with a trip to the West Coast Conference tournament title game and a berth into the Women's NIT. It was the program's first post-season appearance since the 2001-02 season.
