C.J. Sapong scored a late equalizer to salvage a 1-1 draw for the Philadelphia Union against NYC FC in Major League Soccer on Thursday.

Maurice Edu headed a long cross in front of the goal and Sapong found the back of the net in the 86th minute.

Philadelphia beat NYC FC 2-1 in stoppage time five days ago for its lone victory of the season.

Mehdi Ballouchy gave NYC FC a 1-0 lead in the 57th minute when he curled a shot in the net from just inside the area.
