Adrian Rodgers scored 20 points, Christopher Hyder added 14 and Southern beat Alabama A&M 73-52 on Monday night for the Jaguars' sixth consecutive victory.

Rashad Andrews and Trelun Banks added 10 points apiece for Southern (14-7, 6-2 Southwestern Athletic).

It was tied at 20-all before Southern closed the first half on a 16-5 spurt for a 36-25 lead.

Quinterian McConico's jumper pulled Alabama A&M to 44-35, but Rodgers and Andrews answered with back-to-back 3-pointers and Southern led by double figures the rest of the way. Two free throws by D'Arian Allen extended Southern's lead to 20 points with 5:25 left.

McConico led Alabama A&M (6-10, 2-5) with 12 points and Nicholas West had 10. The Bulldogs were held to 17-of-51 shooting (33 per cent) from the field and hit just 14 of 24 free throws.
