Kourtlin Jackson scored 23 points as Southern Miss rallied in the second half to beat FIU 66-60 on Saturday night.
Jackson finished with 7-of-14 shooting from the field for the Golden Eagles (5-11, 2-3 Conference USA). Keljin Blevins and Robert Thomas III added nine points apiece. The team averaged 44.9 per cent shooting from the field and 72.7 per cent from the line.
Jackson and Thomas hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cap a 22-12 surge to open the second half that gave Southern Miss a 49-43 lead with 9:41 to play. Blevins sank a jumper to extend the Golden Eagles lead to 56-46 with 6:08 left and they cruised from there.
FIU led early in the first half on its way to a 31-27 lead at the break.
Donte McGill and Adrian Diaz scored 19 points apiece for the Golden Panthers (9-9, 3-2).
