Chris Hooper was named MVP of the 41st Battle of Brooklyn, coming off the bench to score 15 points, leading four players into double-digit scoring as Saint Francis defeated LIU Brooklyn 64-49 on Saturday.

Amdy Fall added 11 points and matched his career-high with 13 rebounds while blocking four shots as St. Francis (8-13, 4-4 Northeast) held the Blackbirds to 22-per cent shooting (15-69).

LIU Brooklyn (9-10, 3-5) was led by 16 points from Jerome Frink. The Blackbirds led 35-25 early in the second half before missing their next 10 shots in a six-minute scoreless stretch.

The Terriers closed out the final 2:19 by converting 12 of 15 foul shots. LIU Brooklyn scored two points in the game's last 4:24, missing 10 of 11 shots. Tyreek Jewell scored 13 for St. Francis, Antonio Jenifer 11 with 11 boards.
