Ladarius Tabb pumped in 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Alabama A&M built an early lead and rode it to an 83-69 win over Prairie View Saturday night.

Quinterian McConico's layup with two seconds left in the first half sent the Bulldogs to the locker room with a 12-point lead, and a second layup less than three minutes into the second half pushed that lead to 20 points, 51-31. The lead expanded to as many as 23 points down the stretch.

McConico and Nicholas West each contributed 14 points for Alabama A&M (7-10, 3-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference). The Bulldogs shot a brisk 25 of 52 from the field (48.1 per cent), including 7 of 19 from 3-point range, and were 26 of 33 at the free-throw line.

Jayrn Johnson scored 27 points to lead Prairie View (1-19, 1-7). Admassu Williams added another 16 points.
