Asha Thomas scored 19 points and Mikayla Cowling had 17 and both hit four 3-pointers to lead No. 21 California to an 82-57 win over Cal Poly on Sunday.
Gabby Green also hit four 3s for 12 points as the Bears (4-0) went 14 of 25 behind the arc. Cal was 8 of 11 on treys in the second half when it shot 61 per cent to finish the game at 55 per cent (32 of 58).
Beth Balbierz led Cal Poly (2-2) with 14 points and Dynn Leaupepe added 12 but the Mustangs shot just 36 per cent after making 6 of 21 from long distance.
Mikayla Cowling's 3-point play highlighted a 10-0 run that gave Cal a 16-7 lead that reached double figures early in the second quarter. It was 35-16 before the Mustangs scored the last 10 of the half to close within 38-26.
