Tony Woodcock may have played his last game for New Zealand after hobbling off with a right hamstring injury during the 47-9 win over Tonga at the Rugby World Cup on Friday.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said the 34-year-old prop, who has 118 caps for New Zealand, sustained a "bad tear" and that it was "reasonably serious."

Woodcock shook his head after coming off in the 43rd minute.

"He's played a lot of games for the All Blacks," Hansen said, "and if this happens to be the end of his tournament, then it will be a sad way for him to finish because he's been a great All Black and fully deserves to go out better than that."

Woodcock, one of only six All Blacks players with 100 or more test caps, announced in June that he would be retiring from all rugby after the World Cup.

He scored New Zealand's only try in its 8-7 win over France in the World Cup final in 2011. He also scored a try against Tonga in what could be his last ever game.

Hansen said Woodcock will undergo tests on Saturday to determine the severity of the injury.
