The Toronto Blue Jays recalled right-hander Bo Schultz from triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

The 29-year-old native of Dallas, Tex., had seven saves and a 1.69 earned-run average in 16 appearances this season with the Bisons. Schultz appeared in four games for the Arizona Diamondbacks last season, allowing seven runs in eight innings.

The Blue Jays also announced that right-hander Todd Redmond cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Buffalo. He was designated for assignment last Tuesday, a day after making a spot start in the Jays' 10-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Toronto will kick off a three-game series at Minnesota on Friday night.
