The Toronto Blue Jays recalled infielder/outfielder Chris Colabello from triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday and optioned infielder Jonathan Diaz to the International League squad.
Toronto also designated left-hander Jayson Aquino for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
Colabello, 31, has hit .337 with the Bisons this season with five home runs and 18 runs-batted in. In parts of two seasons with Minnesota, he has a .214 average with 13 homers and 56 RBI in 114 major league games.
