Midwest Thoroughbreds Inc.'s Tune Me In held off a late-charging Mr. Jenney to capture the $41,000 allowance-optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Friday.

The Trevor McCarthy-ridden winner ran 1 1/16 miles over the turf course in 1:42 3/5. The 8-year-old mare paid $12, $5.60 and $4.

"He sat really quiet until the half-mile," McCarthy said. "We moved a bit sooner than I wanted to, but I asked him to go and he opened his stride and levelled off for me nicely. He really dug in when that other horse came to him."

Tune Me In has hit the board in 18 of his 21 career starts at Monmouth Park.

Mr. Jenney returned $4 and $3, and Carson Bandit paid $6.80 to show.
