Uruguay coach Pablo Lemoine has made two changes from the team that lost 47-15 to Fiji this week for his starting lineup to play England at the Rugby World Cup.
Felipe Berchesi replaces Alejo Duran at flyhalf and Mateo Sanguinetti comes in for Alejo Corral at loosehead prop in the team announced Thursday for Saturday's Pool A match at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.
It represents the second fewest number of changes Uruguay has made between successive World Cup matches. In 1999, Los Teros made only one change to the side that beat Spain and then played Scotland.
Corral will make his 50th test appearance for Uruguay if he comes off the bench.
Earlier Thursday, scrumhalf Agustin Ormaechea was cleared to play against England, after being sent off against Fiji.
Ormaechea, who was one of Uruguay's best players against Fiji, received a second yellow card in the second half for playing an opponent without the ball. That resulted in a red card, the first in the tournament.
Uruguay, convincingly beaten in its other Pool A matches against Wales and Australia, scored its first tries of the tournament against Fiji, including the second by Ormaechea.
England won its opening match against Fiji but also lost to Wales and Australia, becoming the first team to miss out on qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup it was hosting.
England coach Stuart Lancaster announced his squad Wednesday, recalling George Ford at flyhalf, Owen Farrell shifted to inside centre and Henry Slade was picked at outside centre.
