Veasley capped the game's opening possession with a 1-yard TD run, and Kirk Baugh and Dominique Thomas added TD runs to keep the Bears (5-3, 5-1 Southland Conference) in front.
Julius Maraclin led the Lions (4-4, 3-3) with 118 yards rushing. His 7-yard run pulled SE Louisiana within 21-16 with 9:12 left.
But the Bears' Bobby Watkins intercepted Donovan Isom's pass with 2:48 left and their defence sealed the win by forcing a turnover on downs in the final minute.
Baugh's 10-yard run made it 14-3 before the half and Thomas ran 45 yards to make it 21-9 early in the fourth. Thomas finished with 76 yards on 15 carries.
