Michael Carey made 11-of-14 shots and scored a career-high 26 points to lead Wagner to a 73-63 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday and forge a three-way tie atop the Northeast Conference standings.
Corey Henson added 14 points for the Seahawks (14-7, 7-3), who are tied with the Mountaineers (10-13, 7-3) and Fairleigh Dickinson. Wagner hosts both co-leaders next week.
Wagner had a 19-3 run to close the first half for a 43-21 lead. Carey had a 3-point play and Aaren Edmead a 3-pointer to finish the scoring.
Mount St. Mary's used 13-0 run, including a trey and 3-point play from Gary Graves and a 3 from BK Ashe to close within 48-43 at the 11:41 mark. Wagner ended the drought of 4:50 with Carey's 3-point play at 11:08.
JoJo Cooper scored four-straight points to put Wagner up 69-55 with 1:41 left.
Ashe scored 21 points and Graves 13 for the Mountaineers.
