Wayne Rooney and his wife, Coleen, are expecting their third child in January.
The Manchester United and England captain made the announcement on his Facebook page late on Wednesday, while Coleen Rooney said on Twitter: "Baby number 3 is on the way ...... January!! We are so happy and excited."
The couple, married in 2008, has two sons: Kai, born in 2009, and Klay, born in 2013.
