Britain's anti-doping authority has banned a former Wales international rugby league player for two years after positive for a growth hormone releasing peptide.

Sean Penkywicz, who served a two-year ban in 2005 for using the banned steroid stanozol, failed an out-of-competition test last year.

The 33-year-old hooker had been playing for English club side Leigh.

U.K. Anti-Doping says the case is only the second of its kind in the country relating to the banned substance GHRP-6, which is used by bodybuilders.

The suspension runs to April 2017 and effectively ends his career.
