Zeek Woodley scored 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting and Sabri Thompson added 18 points and three steals to help Northwestern State snap a seven-game skid and beat Nicholls State 88-80 Monday night.

Woodley, who scored at least 30 for the third time this season, made a career-high six 3-pointers on eight attempts.

Devonte Hall finished with 13 points and a career-high tying 11 assists, and Ishmael Lane had 10 points with nine rebounds for Northwestern State (4-14, 1-7 Southland Conference).

Quinton Thomas hit a 3 and Ja'Dante' Frye made two free throws to give Nicholls State (5-16, 1-6) a 74-72 lead, but Woodley scored eight during a 13-1 run — a span of more than six minutes — that gave the Demons an 85-75 lead with 31 seconds left.

Schane Rillieux had 17 points and seven assists for Nicholls State, which has lost five in a row and nine of its last 10.
