Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh on Friday in the first of their four Twenty20s.
Allrounder Shuvagata Hom and wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan will make their T20 debuts for Bangladesh.
Both teams are using the series to settle their lineups for the upcoming World Twenty20 in India.
