The silversmith making Argentina's ceremonial presidential baton says he'll offer it to the country's patron saint if Argentina's feuding leaders can't soon agree on inauguration ceremony details.

Silversmith Juan Carlos Pallarols says he's perplexed by the spat between outgoing President Cristina Fernandez and President-elect Mauricio Macri.

Macri wants to receive the baton and a sash from Fernandez Thursday at the executive branch headquarters known as the Casa Rosada. However, Fernandez has insisted the transfer take place in Congress.

Pallarols told local radio station FM Blue on Monday that if the tiff isn't sorted out, he'll offer the baton to the Virgin of Lujan.

Macri ran on promises to roll back many of Fernandez's policies. He defeated her favoured candidate in the Nov. 22 election.
