Brazil's acting president is again trying to knock down allegations his new government will try to interfere in a massive anti-corruption probe that has implicated many politicians.
Michel Temer appeared at Wednesday's swearing-in of state-run bank presidents and insisted for what he called the "umpteenth time" that no one will meddle in the investigation.
Two members of Temer's cabinet recently resigned after leaked recordings suggested they had tried to derail the investigation of the Petrobras scheme.
Suspended President Dilma Rousseff alleges she was impeached in part to block investigations into the corruption scheme. Prosecutors allege that businesses paid over $2 billion in bribes to obtain contracts from the oil company — projects that then subsequently ballooned in costs.
