A young Colombian journalist was shot and killed Thursday by a gunman on the back of a motorcycle as she was entering a radio station where she worked.

Police are investigating whether the murder of 26-year-old Flor Nunez was related to her work as a journalist for radio and television in the southern city of Pitalito.

Colombia's Foundation for Press Freedom said it had information that Nunez received threats after an interview with people accused of taking the life of a pit bull.

She also had written about upcoming elections and recently published on her Facebook account photos of a criminal gang behind a recent robbery.

Nunez is the third Colombian journalist murdered this year.
