Serbia's prime minister says the stability of the Western Balkans depends on his country having good relations with Bosnian Muslims.

During a visit to Sarajevo on Wednesday, Aleksandar Vucic said he talked to Bosnian leaders in Sarajevo about tighter political and economic co-operation between their nations.

Vucic said he offered Sarajevo tighter co-operation regarding arms industry, tourism and security. Bosnia is divided in two ministates — one for the Bosnian Serbs, the other shared by Croats and Muslims, known as Bosniaks.

Serbia supported the Bosnian Serbs during the 1992-95 Bosnian war in which the Bosniaks were the main victims, and Serbia has since maintained close ties with the Bosnian Serbs.
