There were no injuries after the pilot of a small plane made an emergency landing on the Seward Highway just south of Anchorage.
Anchorage Fire Department spokesman John See says the plane ran out of fuel, and the pilot landed on the highway near Potter Marsh just after 2 p.m. Monday.
See says it wasn't immediately known if the plane landed on both lanes of the highway, only on one lane or a shoulder. But the pilot was able to restart the plane and taxi it off the highway.
The pilot was the only one on board the Cessna 180, en route from Seldovia to Anchorage. See says there were no injuries and no damage to the plane.
He says "the pilot did a great job."
The pilot's name hasn't been released.
