OPP arrest 20 people, recover more than 300 vehicles in auto theft network bust
Today (December 17,2025), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Auto Theft and Towing (PATT) Team and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced the dismantling of a criminal organization involved in facilitating the movement of stolen vehicles from Canada to destinations overseas. As part of Project CHICKADEE, 306 stolen vehicles destined for foreign markets such as the Middle East and West Africa have been recovered.
