2016 Mazda6.
What is it?
The 2016 Mazda6 is a mid-size sedan with aspirations to compete against near-luxury cars its size. Two years after a complete overhaul, we get a facelift. Nothing overly dramatic, but enough to keep the car competitive and appealing.
Signature feature
The front end has been given the once-over – grille, LED headlamps – but it's not dramatic. The big changes are inside: reshaped instrument panel, new floor console, tightened up panel gaps and better materials.
What else is new
More sound insulation to calm the ride, more supportive seats. This is a nice tweaking, not an overhaul.
Under the hood
The carry-over 2.5-litre four-cylinder. No word here about the once-promised diesel engine.
When can we buy it, and for how much?
End of January, 2015. No prices announced, but it's a good bet there won't be price increases.
